At DALO Industry Days 2026, Babcock International and CUBEDIN signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore how future hybrid navies can better integrate mission systems and autonomous capabilities across increasingly distributed fleets.
As navies adapt to a rapidly changing operational environment, there is growing emphasis on deploying capability across a mix of crewed, uncrewed and autonomous platforms. While this hybrid fleet approach offers greater flexibility, scale and resilience, it also creates new integration challenges across platforms, vendors and mission systems.
The cooperation between Babcock and CUBEDIN will examine how standardised physical and digital interfaces can simplify the integration of payloads, mission systems and autonomous capabilities. By reducing the need for bespoke integration, a common interface approach can enable navies to introduce new capabilities faster, upgrade systems more easily and adapt to evolving operational requirements.

The agreement combines CUBEDIN’s expertise in naval modularity and integration with Babcock’s extensive experience in naval engineering and programme delivery. Together, the companies will explore approaches that help navies accelerate capability insertion while maintaining interoperability across future fleets.
